RPCS4 is an open-source virtualization-based PS4 emulator project written in Java for Android OS.
This is the first and the only PS4 emulator which allows you to play Play Station 4 games on smartphone devices.
It can runs most of the PS4 exclusive titles on high-end systems with some bugs/glitches as it is still in beta.
RPCS4 emulator is a private project being worked on by one of the original developers of RPCS3, DH.
Little is known about the project at this time, but what we do know is that it’s expected to run on Unix-likes, and can boot PS4 games without graphics.
This is a parallel project to RPCS3, and nobody from the current RPCS3 team is directly involved (in other words, this project does not impact RPCS3 development).
The GitHub repo hasn’t been updated since 2016, and it appears to only exist as a placeholder until the project is released.
It is still being worked on although it is in early stages.
You can now play PS4 games on Android at variable frame rates with a smooth experience as most of the titles can now run at 60 FPS and beyond.
All components & plugins of RPCS4 is open source except the core executable.
The advanced settings menu lets users tune in-game resolution, add post-processing effects, and extend visual enhancement features.
RPCS4 emulator uses SPIR-V for hardware-accelerated virtualization – it is a low-level shader language used in the Vulkan graphics API.
The current state of RPCS4 emulator at booting decrypted kernels can be followed in the issue tracker: both PS4 4.55 and PS4 5.00 have been tested.
There will be frequent releases which you can get from the downloads section on the link button below.
